The Mission
You’ve landed on a site dedicated to the fun, adventure, and wonder to be found in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Here you’ll find projects for clubs or individuals offered as a step-by-step path of early exploration, build, and engineering concepts that lead to competence in computers, coding, software, robotics, and information technology.
The early focus for young students is on fun projects with themes in design, prototyping, engineering, test and evaluation. Test failures and redesign are recognized as a part of STEM, building a confidence to approach more complex build and engineering projects.
The Goal: Forge Useful Projects that Entertain and Educate
Step-by-step builds, materials lists, and session plans for individuals and school STEM clubs — from paper-airplane challenges in third grade to networked robots in high school. Build the base for a lifetime’s interest in how and why things work. Written by working engineers and educators, tested with real clubs in Chatham County, North Carolina.
Start where you / your students are.
Three pathways, each building on the one before. Every project is tagged with a grade band, to mix freely.
GRADES 3–5
Explore
Hands-on design challenges with cardboard, tape, and batteries. Test, fail, redesign.

GRADES 6–8
Build
First circuits and first code. Breadboards, sensors, and ESP32 boards programmed from a Chromebook.
GRADES 9–12
Engineer
Multi-week systems projects: Linux, Python, networking, and real control problems.
